WE MAKE CULTURE
making change through making music
Where young people find their voice, build community and shape their future, because talent is everywhere but opportunity is not.
We create inclusive, youth-led music spaces that support young people to grow, lead and progress on their own terms.
Our work
Everything we do is shaped by a commitment to access, youth voice and progression, with a focus on young people facing the greatest barriers to participation, becoming artists and building creative careers. Our work is long-term, embedded and person-centred.
Our work is built around three connected strands:
Embedded Community Projects
We work with children, young people and families facing challenging circumstances, embedding music-making through long-term partnerships with organisations including WWIN and More Than Grandparents.
We create participant-led spaces where young people build confidence, connect with others, tell their stories and experience the difference music can make in their lives.
Young Musicians Project (YMP)
Young Musicians Project (YMP) is our central programme, offering free, weekly sessions in both youth and music spaces across the city. Young people can start making music, develop their skills and collaborate, working with professional musicians and with regular opportunities to perform and record their work.
Our partners are Field Music, Back on the Map and Lambton Street Youth and Community Hub.
Progression and Artist Support
We support young people aged 16–25 to take the next steps, from developing as peer leaders to building the skills and confidence to pursue creative careers, with artist development support and space to create through YMP Collective.
We connect regionally and nationally, through our gig exchange programme and as members of PRS Talent Development Network.
