Young Musicians Project is a free- to-access group based at Pop Recs Ltd in Sunderland, for young people aged 11-21 who are interested in finding out more about music and songwriting.

The group meets for regular songwriting sessions on Saturday in term-time from 11am-1pm. Sessions are led by local musicians Marty Longstaff (aka. The Lake Poets), Natasha Haws and Beccy Young (aka. This Little Bird) and are a chance to meet other young musicians, learn new songwriting skills and access opportunities to do gigs, record your work and become part of Sunderland’s vibrant music community.

Everyone is welcome to come along and have a go.

The group was established by New Writing North in 2016, under the name Cuckoo Young [Song]Writers group.
